How to get cheap airline tickets?

My mom asked me if I wanted to find the tickets and I’ve never done it before so I’m asking for help. I don’t know if you need this information but it’s round-trip from New York to California for three people and the trip wouldn’t be for a couple of weeks. Thank you!

its really very simple, just takes a little research. use the regular sites such as travelocity, orbitz, priceline, expedia, hotwire, cheapoair, etc. You should purchase your tickets 8-12 weeks before your departure to insure yourself the cheapest possible ticket. I use this method and works for me 99.9% of the time. Once you start looking for tickets compare it to the other website and then against the airlines website to make sure your getting the cheapest ticket. Also check out regional aircraft sites since there not offered on the sites above, go to jetblue, southwest, etc.
i recommend to choose the airline your flying with and go to their original website and check for promotions is the same if you search in other websites
yes we do need to know the information.
it’s really easy nowadays.
go to and buy
Just some added info; expedia, orbitz, etc are great sites - but they can be more expensive than other travel websites (price depends on travel contracts between vendors; ie hotels, airlines, etc). I always suggest that everyone compare prices before booking any type of travel. I say think of travel sites like grocery stores; they all “sell” the same thing, the only difference is going to be the prices. Try this travel website to see how they compare to the others;
Simply try Travelocity: they usually offer the cheapest flights in the USA.
It is very easy and fast: Just put your departure airport (New York), your destination (let’ s Los Angeles), your travel dates. Then, you get immediately the cheapest flights.
Finding online the cheapest flight for you is the job of Travelocity and similar flights brokers/ booking sites. The best ones are listed here:
No hidden fees.
Use flexible dates in your query.
Travelocity and Expedia quote prices in US $. Sites such as Opodo and Terminal quote prices in British Pounds
