I took this opportunity to take this video as I was the only one travelling in the business class that day. The Airbus A319 is one of the smallest aircraft in their fleet. It has a capacity of 122 seats, 8 of which are in the Business Class. The seats were generous in width and legspace. The Inflight entertainment was decent for a 3 hour flight.

I live in Montréal, Québec, but could go to another airport. I’ve heard of people driving to Plattsburg since tickets are cheaper, and parking is free.

You may have better fares going out of Toronto than Montreal although there is a big push lately to get Air Canada to focus more on Montreal as a hub. In the mean time, be sure to include Toronto in your flight searches plus Boston, NY-EWR and NY-JFK as well, as these airports often have fare sales and you may save a lot of money flying through there and taking a commuter jet from Montreal to catch your JFK flight.

As for time of year, peak season for European travel is on, and will be going on till late September or even into October. You have a short window in late October where flights may become cheaper but then fares go back up for the holidays. The real bargain fares are usually found around January through early March, when the European weather is not the prettiest and flights are empty.

Check into London (either Heathrow or Gatwick) as you can get to pretty much anywhere else from London, either by train or by plane. There have been a lot of sales to Madrid lately so I’d check out those fares as well. In the winter months, most of the destination cities are on sale so I’d pick based on convenience.

I learned the hard way not to book a flight in the 3 to 7 pm window. It is much easier to take morning flights because babies are better rested, happier and therefore more adaptable. 2. Reserve a window seat. This gives you privacy for nursing or feeding and contains a “wall” (the window) to lean against which helps with a squirmy baby. You are also in charge of the amount of light coming in through window shade, which helps when trying to get a baby to nap. An added bonus, some babies also like to look out windows… a nice diversion! 3. Go to gate early and see if you can be seated next to an empty seat. If the plane isn’t full, most airline attendants will let you move to a seat next to an empty seat. This is a HUGE score. We brought Griffin’s car seat onboard and strapped him in the empty seat between Mike and I. He fell asleep easily because he’s in his own space and familiar with being in there for naps. 4. This years Poker Run 2012 will be held on Thursday, May 10th, 2012. All pilots, passengers and aviation lovers are invited to come out and enjoy flying fun this spring and support aviation in Mississippi.

This is an event that is hosted by the Mississippi Airports Association in conjunction with the annual Airports Conference beginning May 9th, 2012. Pilots, passengers, and aviation lovers are invited to register and attend this premier meeting for aviation business executives in the state. Those in attendance are airport directors and board members, engineers, consultants, and representatives from government and other aviation-related businesses. This is a variation on Texas HoldEm. Attendees will travel to outlying airports (at least two, but as many as ninewhich improves the odds of a good hand!) to collect one poker card per airport. Attendees will arrive at KGPT before 6:00 pm on May 10th and receive a final card.

Compose your best 5-card poker hand from the cards you collected plus any, all or none of the shared community cards. Since there are three community cards, participants will need to collect at least two (2) offsite cards to compose a playable hand. Collecting additional cards from other airports will simply improve the odds of creating a winning hand.

Participation from all of the airports / FBOs has been confirmed. No registration is required! Just fly out, get cards, and have fun. Mississippi Airports Association will be sending out enough cards to support up to (twenty-five) 25 participants, which should be more than adequate.

Depart your Airport and fly to at least 2 (two) other designated airports returning to and finishing at Million Air Gulfport-Biloxi KGPT Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (Gulfport, MS).
