cheap airline tickets
Jnn2 asked:

Is there any other kind of program that provides you with cheap airline tickets besides SkyMiles?

What are some ways of getting cheap international tickets?

Oh actually I know a good way, if you are a student, this website gives you the best rates available. otherwise if you are going lets say to africa, try to choose an african airline because they are way cheaper than here.

This is such a good question, and believe me, I’m the queen of discount travel… the truth is, I’ve found it harder and harder to find really discounted airline tix, particularly since the cost of has gone up. Expedia, Travelocity, etc - they’re all the same. I’ve sometimes found slightly better prices for int’l tix on Orbitz. If you’re a student, then definitely check out Council Travel and STA Travel. My very last suggestion is to check out Frommers Budget Traveler - a monthly magazine put out by Arthur Frommer - travel guru. There’s usually a 3-4 page spread on the best places to visit within the next 3 months (because of weather, festivals, etc.) and the cheapest way to get there. I avoid packages like the plague, but I have found time and time again, that their hotel/airfare combos can’t be beat.
